AMAZON LABOR UNION IBT LOCAL 1

We are Amazon warehouse workers of NYC fighting for dignity and a union contract.

On April 1st, 2022, Amazon workers at the JFK8 Fulfillment Center on Staten Island made history by voting to form the first ever union at Amazon.

Our demands are simple: better pay, better benefits, and better working conditions. Amazon workers know the only way we’re going to pressure the company into treating us with respect is by uniting under one banner and exercising our right to come together as a worker-led union.

In 2024, ALU affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters to become ALU-IBT Local 1.

Amazon has illegally refused to negotiate with our union. In response, we went on Unfair Labor Practice strike in December of 2024. It was the largest Amazon strike in U.S. history.

In spring of 2025, ALU launched the We Are Not Robots campaign, to address unsafe working conditions at Amazon.
