OUR CORE PRINCIPLES
Democracy
We are a rank-and-file union rooted in radical democracy. Power in our union flows from the bottom up through collective decision-making, open debate, and direct participation. Every member has the right to speak, vote, lead, and shape the direction of our struggle. We reject backroom deals, top-down leadership, and bureaucracy. We build leadership from the shop floor and hold ourselves accountable to one another. No one speaks for us—we speak and fight for ourselves. We are the union.
Class Struggle and Worker Control
We are not collaborators with corporate power—we are in active conflict with it. Amazon’s vast profits are built on our exploitation. Our fight is not simply about wages or benefits; it’s a struggle against capitalism, colonialism, white supremacy, and all systems that treat working people as disposable. We are not here to win a seat at the table; we are building a new table altogether. We envision a worker-controlled Amazon, where the people who do the work make the decisions. This is a movement for liberation, led by workers for workers.
Strategic Militancy
We believe in disruption as a source of power. We’re not afraid to walk out, strike, rally, or confront Amazon through coordinated, strategic action. We don’t wait for permission; we act to make our demands impossible to ignore. Confrontation is not a last resort; it’s a deliberate tool we wield collectively. We organize with courage, discipline, and clarity of purpose. We know that fear is real—but so is our power when we fight side by side.
Justice, Solidarity, and Internationalism
Our fight for dignity at Amazon is inseparable from the fight for justice everywhere. We organize against racism, sexism, ableism, xenophobia, and every form of structural oppression that divides and exploits us. We know Amazon profits from global inequality, so we build global solidarity. From Staten Island to San Bernardino, from Bangladesh to Bessemer—we stand with workers across warehouses, industries, and borders. An injury to one is an injury to all.
Care and Collective Responsibility
We build a union culture rooted in mutual care and shared responsibility. In a system that dehumanizes and isolates us, care is a radical act. We lift up the most vulnerable and protect each other from harm. We build networks of mutual aid to support workers in times of need, whether through helping with emergencies, advocating for safety on the job, or defending members from retaliation. Care isn’t a side project—it’s how we sustain the struggle. Our commitment to each other is what turns a union into a movement. No one gets left behind.
Power Through Organization
Our greatest power lies in our ability to organize—patiently, persistently, and strategically. Real change comes not from individual grievances or outside intervention, but from united workers taking collective action. We build power through education, deep relationships, democratic structure, and disciplined planning. Organizing is long-haul work. We’re in this for the future, not just to win demands, but to transform what’s possible for workers everywhere.
