OUR MISSION AND VISION:

Amazon workers are at the forefront of one of the most critical labor struggles of our time. The fight to unionize Amazon isn’t just about better wages, benefits, and working conditions—it’s about shifting the balance of power between the working class and the billionaire class. The fight at JFK8 and other Amazon warehouses is a frontline struggle for justice and dignity for all workers.

In April 2022, workers at Amazon’s JFK8 warehouse in Staten Island made history by voting to unionize with the Amazon Labor Union (ALU)—the first successful unionization effort at an Amazon facility in the United States. This victory was a massive breakthrough in the labor movement, proving that even one of the most powerful corporations in the world can be challenged by organized worker power.

But the fight didn’t stop there. Amazon responded with aggressive union-busting tactics: firing union supporters, delaying contract negotiations, and pouring resources into breaking worker solidarity. Despite these attacks, JFK8 workers have continued organizing, and the union’s affiliation with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) in 2024 created a new phase in the fight.

Winning our first contract would be a game-changer, not just for Amazon workers, but for the entire working class. A strong union contract at the country’s largest employer would raise the bar for wages, benefits, and working conditions nationwide. To get there, we need a supermajority at JFK8 and the momentum to organize other Amazon warehouses across the country.

THE STAKES ARE HIGH:

Organizing Amazon is one of the most challenging labor fights in the country. Amazon sets the standard for the future of work. Amazon’s dominance represents an existential threat to working-class people, from crushing small businesses to exploiting labor and influencing policy. Its business model of surveillance, exploitation, and union-busting threatens to undermine hard-won labor rights across industries. If Amazon succeeds in crushing worker power, it will embolden other corporations to follow suit. Amazon’s deep pockets and union-busting tactics create an uphill battle for workers organizing on the shop floor. Despite these obstacles, we’ve made historic progress—but to build to a supermajority at JFK8 and expand to other warehouses, we need resources and support.

To take on Amazon’s power, we need mass community support. That’s why we’re launching the Solidarity Membership program—a way for supporters to provide consistent, recurring financial support to sustain our organizing efforts, expand our reach, and secure meaningful victories for Amazon workers everywhere.

Amazon sets the standard for the future of work; if they succeed in crushing unions, it will embolden other corporations to follow suit. A victory at Amazon would empower workers across the supply chain—from warehouse workers to delivery drivers—setting a new labor standard. A successful labor movement at Amazon could raise the bar for working conditions and wages nationwide, making Amazon workers a powerful catalyst for broader social and economic justice. Winning at Amazon would signal to all workers that organizing is possible, even against the biggest corporations. This is more than a labor struggle, it’s a fight to challenge the growing wealth inequality and corporate dominance that threatens democracy itself.

YOUR SUPPORT WILL BUILD:

  • A sustainable organizing program to build supermajority support at JFK8

  • Expanded outreach and union drives at other Amazon warehouses

  • Paid stipends for worker organizers to focus on organizing without financial hardship

  • National solidarity events and rallies to pressure Amazon and build community power

  • Outreach materials, flyers, and digital media to educate and engage workers and supporters

  • Strike funds and emergency support for Amazon workers facing retaliation

  • Member education and training programs to strengthen internal organizing capacity

  • Worker-led media campaigns to combat Amazon’s corporate narrative

  • An annual Amazon Worker Conference in NYC

Every successful labor movement in history, from the sit-down strikes of the 1930s to the civil rights-era union victories, was fueled by mass community support. Amazon has endless resources to fight unionization, but we have something stronger: solidarity.
